The colours are very nice, very bright and cheerful, I like the way the edge of the shell is quite so in focus and the background is nice smooth colours blendinginto each other. The symmetry of the shell is very photogenic too, maybe it's the angle too but the pattern is really nice. Well done.
Very colourful and summery. However, as usual, I think you've not used a deep enough dof, I think the whole shell should be in focus. Mind you, I say this about all your recent stuff, so I think I'll just have to learn that you're not going to change it.
Well I was so close that it wouldn't have been in focus all the way anyway (even if I'd use smallest aperture) so I decided to take it like this. You should have seen the one I took with the biggest aperture, now that really had shallow dof Don't loose your hope yet, maybe I someday change to the f64 style or something. Except that my lenses don't have f 64
And one point is that when shooting at home without any lightning equipment or bacdrops or decent space it's harder to shoot with really big dof. In this shot you'd see quite many details of my kitchen too and that would definitely ruin the picture
What does a tripod have to do with it? I did use a tripod As I tried to explain I was so close to the subject that it just wasn't physically possible for my lense to give a dof that would cover the area of the seashell that's in the picture. With smallest aperture (f 32) it was still partly soft. 90mm macro lense (+ the digicrop) focused almost as close as it can just doesn't cover that much ground
Sorry, I misinterpreted what you said. Because I'm an idiot. when you said "
And one point is that when shooting at home without any lightning equipment or bacdrops or decent space it's harder to shoot with really big dof. " I decided that you meant because of shake. Then I read the rest again. Sorry.
